Day 1: Singapore to Taipei

The day has finally come for a long breakaway from work, and all else in Singapore!
SQ878 at Singapore Changi Airport
Iphone usb cable, earphones, extra HTC handphone, trip planner... etc, checked. All into my sling bag ready to take off with me for the next 4.5hrs inflight.
tuffs of clouds and beautiful blue skies
almost like snow covered grounds
Arrived at Taoyuan Airport T2 around 4.30pm. Highest priority, to get the local sim card.

台湾大哥大 counter is located at level 1 of both T1 and T2. Opening hours: 8am-9pm. *One thing to remember, you need to have your identification card (IC, or driving license) and passport.* The counter staff are very strict on this. My friend only had her passport and was rejected of her request. So, she had to apply for 中华电信 next to 台湾大哥大 counter instead. If you can't live without Facebook or, are terrible with directions and need the online maps, I would highly recommend this:

10 Day Pass for NT$600 consisting of: unlimited data usage + airtime NT$550

By the time we settled all our local sim, it's almost 6pm. Although Taiwan and Singapore share the same time zone, it almost felt like Taiwan is 2hrs ahead of Singapore because the skies outside were already dark!

We hurried to 国光客运 counter located at same floor, bought the ticket (NT$125) for #1819 that stops directly at Taipei Main Station. Bus interval is 15-20mins, travel time is around 55mins.

bus ticket and baggage tag (oops, my messy trip planner too)
国光客运
Checked in to Caesar Park Hotel (est. S$180+/night for Superior Twin). Frankly speaking, other than the location, it's not worth the price. See You Hotel is a much better choice.
chirle brown egg pudding
Bought a tray of Chirle Brown egg pudding for NT$198. Very cute pudding in real egg shells, not too sweet.
McD pork chop burger extra value meal NT$99
After a brief rest, time to head over to Ximending for some fattening up!
